Lucifer-ous (and other masters) i have just started using Apo 7x. and i'm going to start on working some tuts, but im curious what everyone does in photoshop. I have done work in CS2 on my simple images from Apo. but yours and many others are so elaborate. Color? Blurring, just curious.

I can only speak for myself, but mainly, I use photoshop for fixing up my colours :) Most of the time when I render out the colours are a little duller than I expected them to be so to brighten them up a little, a duplicate the layer and change the blending mode to something that'll make the colours stand out more. I use a different blending mode depending on what I'm trying to aim for, and sometimes I leave the render as is. Other times, I mess around with the hues+sauration of the colours. [link] and [link] were some more drastic changes that I've done with regards to colour changes.

Other times, it's finding the right composition/crop for that particular render because then you can focus on a particular area or again, I just wasn't happy with how it turned out. [link] [link] and [link] are examples of this.

Some people also make collages out of their renders. I've only made one sort of collage [link] Where I made several different flames and combined them. There are others more proficient at that than I am. =rockgem is the only one I can think of from the top of my head...

But there are lots of other ways to utilise photoshop. Many UF users don't tend to use photoshop at all. But that's about it from me :) I'm fairly sure there's already a tutorial on this. you should definitely join up :devapophyis: if you haven't already. There's a great community here on dA.

Good luck!

Thanks Lucifer-ous,

I'll check out all the links and i'll join up in the Apophysis group tonight and put up the couple that i have in my gallery. Right now they have just morphed into galaxian type of fractals. There is some symetery. The couple i have done i just worked with the triangles, colors, and the built-ins. in Apo 7x. Then did a bit of focusing manipulation in CS2. Like i said, they're in my gallery if you want to go take a look.

Thanks for the message.
